"For years, clinicians have argued about the optimal antibiotic management of Staphylococcus aureus bacteremia. It’s an important issue, since this condition causes approximately 20,000 deaths a year in the United States alone, with an estimated mortality of 15% to 30%. It is also one of the most common reasons for consultation to ID specialists like me, so we know it well and fear its complications. Now, at long last, the newly published SNAP studies bring welcome clarity."
